Ranks
What's a rank?
A rank is a title that you acquire by accumulating points. Each rank has a name and an accompanying icon that is displayed in the dropdown below your user name on the black navigation bar, right next to your total points (figure 1). The rank is also shown prominently on your dashboard in the summary section. Most of the names stem from rank titles that were common during the Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Your initial rank is 'Novice', and the highest rank you can achieve is 'Deified Emperor/Empress'.
Getting promoted
When you've received enough points to receive a higher rank, you will receive a message congratulating you on your promotion (figure 2). You only see this message at the end of a session (when on the results page).
Rank gender
You can set the gender for your rank in the settings. For instance, if you set your rank gender to female, you will get the title 'Queen' instead of 'King' for the same rank. You can always see a list of all the ranks by clicking on your rank title or icon in the dashboard or on the score page.
